serve the needs of people of all ages with the love of God;
seeking to make and nuture disciples of Jesus Christ.
We want to be a family who
serve the needs of people of all ages with the love of God;
seeking to make and nuture disciples of Jesus Christ.
It's all about all of us doing our part!
We don't believe in 'one man ministry'.
We believe that a valuable part of being a healthy & thriving local church community is everyone being actively involved - We are contributors not consumers & believe in ownership not membership.
True love is shown by serving others!
(Galatians 5:13 calls us to live in freedom and to use that freedom to serve others)
Meet our Pastor
We are so excited... we are pleased to welcome our Pastor, Kofi Amoah-Baah. He's a man of God from Ghana. He's been at King's Baptist Church for a little while and we're delighted to have called him to lead us into what God has for us in this next season.
Leadership
at King's Baptist Church
Vision, direction and purpose is developed within our Vision Team and Trustees consisting of Kofi and Vera, Denis & Becki Doyle, Irene Harrowing and Dave & Clare Catley.
The implementation of our vision and purpose is worked out through our Wider Leadership which consists of our connect group leaders and the leaders of our ministry and other departments.
We involve the whole Church through our Moving Forward meetings, these are friendly information, feedback and prayer meetings held regularly to ensure we are all walking together into the future God has for us here at King's Baptist Church.
Working together to meet the needs of Cleethorpes and beyond
Be part of the community
For King's Baptist Church to be a healthy and thriving Church community, we need everyone to be actively involved; adding their strength, talents and abilities to benefit the whole body and beyond.
You could say, here at King's
'We are contributors not consumers'
There's lots you could get involved in such as: Hospitality/Welcoming; Kids team; pastoral care team; Sound/Vision team; Worship; Admin; Small group leading; and Housekeeping.
Talk to us to get more involved.
Serving God since 2013 (AND 1988 AND 1904)
King's Baptist Church was formed in 2013
when King's Church and Cleethorpes Baptist Church covenanted together
to advance God's Kingdom,
combining our resources to better reach our friends, families and town.
CLEETHORPES
BAPTIST
CHURCH
Beginning with a small group of Baptist meeting in a home on Seacroft Road (now Kingsway), Cleethorpes Baptist Church was launched in 1904. Their first building followed in 1910 after being housed in the Technical Institute (on Isaac's Hill) for some time.
The Church hall was added in 1966 and the congregations work assisted not only the area but also as far as the Andrea Pradesh district in India.
The faithful congregation continued until the aged congregation found themselves through lack of resources, unable to keep the ageing building in good repair.
PARTNERING TO SEE GOD'S KINGDOM COME
"It’s better to have a partner than go it alone.
Share the work, share the wealth."
Ecclesiastes 4.9 (The Message)
KING'S
CHURCH
Initially planted from Grimsby New Life (now City Church) in 1988, King's Church, led by Dennis and Linda Brown, faithfully served Cleethorpes in many ways over the years. The Church were involved in: sending out mission teams, supporting families, providing debt counselling, planting a sister church in the marshes and also establishing a Christian school.
After many years as a Church without a building, a partnership was developed with Cleethorpes Baptist Church leading to the formation of the new King's Baptist Church in 2013.
I know what I’m doing.
I have it all planned out-
plans to take care of you, not abandon you,
plans to give you the future you hope for.
Jeremiah 29.11 (The Message)
AIRSHIP DISASTER!
On the first of April 1916, during the Great War, a Zeppelin airship dropped three bombs on Cleethorpes after being turned back from its planned attack on Grimsby Docks by Waltham Wireless Station's anti-aircraft guns. The first two bombs only caused material damage to buildings. The third bomb hit our building, exploding on impact with slate roof and showering it down upon E Company of the Manchester Regiment who were billeted in the Church. 31 of the regiment lost their lives in the tragedy.
Renovating our buildings
We are in the midst of renovating our buildings; having already invested in the front half of the buildings; phase one is complete and we are now working on the design and funding of the next stage, the renovation of the old Church worship space, to the rear of our site. It's our intention to be able to provide a first class venue for conferences, events and training, whilst also providing a space for expressing God's heart of love for Cleethorpes and the surrounding area with community initiatives and services for all.
Mission Connections - Together we are stronger
We want to see the whole world reached with the Good News of Jesus
so we encourage all our church family to be involved in mission;
prayerfully, financially and even by to considering going on a long or short mission trip.
We believe in partnering for success,
we know that we can't change the entire world alone
so we are connected to make the world better.
As a Church, we recognise that mission can be at home and abroad
and we tithe 10% of our income to support mission projects.
Some of the projects we support are below:
